New members must be sponsored by a current member and approved by an admin.
Info, announcements, event registration, results, and standings are managed via www.wphpl.club, a members only website.
The TD uses “The Tournament Director” (version 3.7.2, copyright Corey Cooper 2004-2020) software to run tournaments. (see sample screen shot). TTDS has been customized for WPH Poker League blinds, breaks, clock, prizes and points. TTDS provides additional tools such as detailed tournament results, player stats, chop calculations, and suggesting randomized starting seat assignments and player movement to balance tables.
Monthly tournaments can seat up to 20 players at a time on 2 tables. Tournament registration under the 'EVENTS' tab typically opens 1-2 weeks prior to the scheduled date as announced via email from chuck@wphpl.club.
Buy-in $100 (cash only).
Allocation:
$70 to the prize pool
$10 to the bounty pool
$20 retained toward the December pools ($16 Annual Championship Tournament pool, $4 Player of the Year pool).
No rebuys, no add-ons.
Points accrue to determine ranking for POY and a seat at the ACT.
The top 10 players as ranked by the monthly results will be invited to the free roll Annual Championship Tournament. No-show seats will be opened to next players in rank to fill the final table.

Why a website?
www.wphpl.club was developed by Chuck Wilson to have our own private and secure website. The site is intentionally designed to not be easily searchable, and only admins have control of wphpl.club. Limiting access to members who are known to admins and/or to other trusted members reduces concerns about privacy or intrusion from outsiders.
Non-discrimination policy.
WPH Poker League does not discriminate regarding membership nor during play based on Race, Color, National Origin, Ancestry, Disability, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Religion or Familial Status.
It DOES discriminate against bad behavior.
WPH Poker League tournaments comply with Arizona gaming statutes.
All gambling is prohibited in Arizona unless it falls into statutorily recognized exemptions, including “Social gambling”:
"This exemption covers gambling that is not part of a business, where the players compete on equal terms, and where all of the following are true: (a) only the players can receive the winnings, (b) no other person receives a direct or indirect benefit from the gambling, (c) all players are over 21 years of age, and (d) no player enjoys an advantage over other players under the rules. A.R.S. § 13-3301(9).”
“Examples of a direct benefit would include charging an entrance fee, taking a percentage of the winnings, or renting chairs or equipment to the players before they can participate. An indirect benefit could include gambling to attract customers to a bar or restaurant or increased food or beverage sales because of the gambling.”
“Poker Tournaments are commonly held at local establishments, event centers, and, occasionally, private residences. These include games such as ‘Texas Hold ‘Em.’ In order to be legal, the gaming host must carefully design the rules and procedures of play so that there is no additional premium other than the contribution to the player winnings pool, no cover charge, and no requirement that patrons purchase items from the establishment. No one may receive any benefit from the poker game except the players themselves.”

WHY "WPH"?
We originally named the League "Wilson Public House" incorporating a nickname for Chuck & Margie's first home together in 2014. It is a personal commemoration to our first date at 'Garage Public House' in Ahwatukee and acknowledging the history of 'public houses' as places where people get together for a good time. Although we no longer host tournaments at our home we retained the WPH name of the League for continuity. 2026 is our 9th season.
